Pirinoa Station is a high-quality finishing operation located in South Wairarapa. Pirinoa Station consists of 1,600 ha of mainly flat to rolling country. This farm has been in the Didsbury family for five generations. The farm surrounds Pirinoa village which has a general store and the famous Land Girl Café. There is a local rugby and netball team and tennis courts. Pirinoa is situated 20 minutes from Martinborough.
We require a forward-thinking Manager to be part of our progressive team who focus on managing high-octane pasture and forage crops to produce the efficient finishing of cattle and some lamb. The cattle consist of Wagyu steers and heifers and Fresian bulls.
You will work closely with the owner setting plans and your role will be to implement these. To do this you will be well organised, have attention to detail and take pride in the results. You will have a good understanding of what drives stock performance, how to meet production targets and the ability to incorporate young stock into the production system.
You will be responsible for the performance of sustainable management and animal welfare on the finishing operation.
You will have the confidence to mentor, lead and train others to enhance their skills and progression goals in the industry. You will promote a positive team culture, by keeping the team focused and working towards the common goals of the business and ensure all living and working on the farm enjoy their time in the business.
A four-bedroom home is available with a primary school at the gate. The farm is located close to the coast which offers fishing and hunting opportunities.
